Fuel for Optimal Performance in LIFE!


Hello! Welcome to My Blog, Performance Foodie!


I'm so glad you're here. My goal is to help you and your family look, feel and perform your best, all while eating delicious food! I will take the guesswork out of cooking for you, and will give you higher protein, tried and true recipes to keep you and your family fueling well and enjoying life with delicious food.


I currently live in Stafford, VA but have lived all over the world. I am from a big family (7 children, all from the same parents) and was raised in NE Washington, DC. My husband is a US Marine and we have 4 beautiful children. I am a Running Coach, Group Fitness Instructor and Nutrition Coach. I love to lift weights, run, sew, cook and read. I love endurance events and have completed 20 races 26.2 miles and up. I hope to train for and complete a 100 mile race in the next year or two.


In 2020 after one of my daughters was medevac'd off the island of Okinawa, Japan we learned that our family needed to go gluten free. With a cascade of family diagnosis of Celiac's Disease we started paving the path of gluten free living. While all of the recipes I post will be gluten free, the recipe will also explain how it can be adapted to suit a variety of needs.


This blog will also serve as a recipe book of sorts for my own children. As children with special dietary needs, it is important that they know how to cook for themselves in order to keep themselves safe and healthy. With the click of the mouse they will be able to access endless family favorites for years to come.

I love helping others and am excited to teach you my ways! I aim to help you make and eat delicious gluten free food that will fuel you for optimal performance in running, fitness and life. Some recipes will have the ‘formula’ to make the food completely customizable for your personal nutritional/macro needs. We're all so individual and with the advancements in technology it's easier than ever to eat deliciously while hitting your specific nutritional goals.
